Counting scales

Counting scales are a type of scale used to count a large number of similar objects. These scales work by measuring the weight of one or more copies of an object, and then calculating how many copies there are based on the known weight of each individual copy.

For example, if a sample contains 100 metal screws with a known weight of 1 gram each, the counter balance will take a sample of several screws, measure their weight, and then calculate how many screws are in the sample based on the known weight of each individual sample. This is a useful function for fast and accurate counting of objects, and is especially useful for industrial applications where large quantities of the same objects are handled.

Counter scales are usually digital and have the function of memorizing the weight of individual specimens in order to be able to calculate precise numbers of specimens. These scales are often used in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution to accurately count individual items in large quantities.
